Offline-first architecture
All 11 survey protocols work without an internet connection. Data is stored securely on the device and syncs automatically when connectivity returns. No data is lost even if the app is closed or the device restarts.
GPS auto-tagging
Every observation, photo, and measurement is automatically tagged with GPS coordinates and depth metadata. Location data is captured even when working offline, using the device's built-in sensors.
Built for field conditions
Large buttons, high-contrast layouts, and simplified navigation designed for use with wet hands, diving gloves, and bright sunlight. The interface prioritizes speed and accuracy during active fieldwork.
Media capture
Take photos and videos during surveys with automatic metadata attachment including timestamp, GPS coordinates, and associated survey protocol. Media files sync alongside structured data records.
Sync and validation
When connectivity returns, MariField validates submitted data against protocol requirements, checks for missing fields or out-of-range values, and syncs clean records to MariMap for analysis and reporting.

Collect
Record observations in the field using MariField on your mobile device. All data is stored locally.
Sync
When internet is available, MariField validates and uploads records to MariMap automatically.
Analyze
View results in the MariMap dashboard with biodiversity analytics, trend charts, and report generation.
App availability
MariField is currently available as a progressive web app accessible from any mobile browser. Native iOS and Android apps are in development.
